Recovery of Failing Grades:
According to Utah Law # 53A-13-104, provision must be made for any student 7-12 receiving a failing grade (F) in Science, Math, English, or History to take remedial study and show evidence of passing the course. The law does not require repeating the entire course or that remediation be repetitive or lengthy.
In order to accommodate students, the following procedures are set forth for the Tooele Junior High. Recovery will be done for each failed term of credit in each of the four subjects Language Arts, History, Math and Science.
Recovery classes only run 8 days per class, therefore it is mandatory that students attend each time. Students may miss one day with a note from their parent to excuse them. Students are responsible for making up the missed work. Students need to attend all other days and do the work to be eligible to pass the class. The grade may be changed from the (F) to a (P).
SIGNED CREDIT RECOVERY AGREEMENTS MUST BE RETURNED TO MRS. LEATHAM IN THE MAIN OFFICE NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 14TH 2017. You can print the form below or pick one up from Mrs. Leatham in the front office.
